On July 25th the Hawaii County Council will hold a final vote on the future of Punalu`u: one of the most sacred sites on Hawaii Island. It is the heart of the longest undeveloped coastline in the state, an invaluable cultural and natural treasure for Ka`u families and is visited by millions from around the world. On July 9th, the Council, acting as the Finance Committee, voted unanimously to support Resolution 169-07 that will protect the shoreline of Punalu`u and Ninole forever. This final decision by the Council will determine the fate of this wahi pana (sacred place).
YOU can make a difference by expressing to the Council your strong support for Resolution 169-07. This final vote will take place 9am, July 25th at the Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort. If you cannot attend, please send an email, call or fax all nine members of the County Council.

While thousands have already sent countless emails, signed the petition, attended hearings and completed surveys, we need to continue to show support for Punalu`u -- ONE LAST TIME. Remind the Council to confirm their July 9th decision approving Resolution 169-07. Everyone should attend. If you have not testified at earlier hearings on Punalu`u, PLEASE come and testify WEDNESDAY, JULY 25, 2007 at the SHERATON KEAUHOU BAY RESORT @ 9:00 a.m. OR Testify via television:
