I just got a call from my mom's friend on Oahu who reported there was a 'big earthquake' there. Most, if not all of Honolulu is without power. I've been searching online, but it hasn't gone out on any news services yet, so I have no idea the size or epicenter of the quake yet.
My mom's in a nursing home on Pacific Hts. I called them and thankfully they have a backup generator, so she's doing ok for now.

Apparently there were two quakes, a 4.9, followed by a 6.3. Both located just NW of Kailua Kona, Hawai'i. The first was large enough to knock out power throughout Oahu, Maui, and the Big Island. There have been several aftershocks as well.
